Brief
Public Policy Holding Company will pay up to $80M for Reevemark, the New York financial communications firm founded by five former Sard Verbinnen partners. The deal closed with $28M paid to the sellers on Nov. 1, PPHC announced.
The five founders — Brandy Bergman, Hugh Burns, Paul Caminiti, Delia Cannan and Renée Soto — launched Reevemark in 2028. They received $26.6M in cash and $1.4M in stock in the initial payment.
What does the acquisition deliver for PPHC?
The transaction adds 17 New York-based staffers to PPHC. It also adds four service lines: litigation support, transaction communications, shareholder activism defense and crisis communications.
PPHC CEO Stewart Hall did not temper his framing. He called the deal "a game-changing acquisition" for his firm.
The claim carries some arithmetic behind it. Reevemark expects full year 2026 revenues of $11.2M. Anticipated profit before tax stands at $3.9M, after adjusting for PPHC's remuneration policy.
How is the remaining $52M structured?
The earnout is tied to a hard number. The maximum $52M in contingent compensation is payable in a mix of cash and equity, but only if Reevemark registers approximately 35% compound annual profit growth through 2031.
That threshold is demanding. Few boutique agencies sustain that growth rate across six years, and the sellers will not collect the full price without delivering it.
Where does this fit in PPHC's acquisition record?
The Reevemark purchase follows PPHC's July acquisition of Tancredi Intelligent Communication Ltd, a strategic communications and advisory firm headquartered in London. Tancredi operates under the TrailRunner International umbrella.
PPHC said the Reevemark acquisition brings together leading litigation communications practices on both sides of the Atlantic. The firm positioned itself as a global leader in the field.
That claim will face testing as the two practices integrate. Cross-border litigation work requires coordinated teams, and PPHC now holds the assets to compete for it.
GP Bullhound, a technology advisory firm, counseled Reevemark on the deal.
What does this change for practitioners?
For comms professionals in financial and litigation work, the deal consolidates another independent boutique into a holding company structure. Founders Bergman, Burns, Caminiti, Cannan and Soto stay tied to their earnout through 2031, which signals client continuity in the near term.
For rivals, the message is direct: PPHC can now pitch cross-Atlantic litigation campaigns with owned teams in New York and London, backed by a listed parent willing to pay premium multiples for specialist practices.
